Motivated employees are Aspo’s key assets
Aspo Group’s employees are its key resources. The principle of HR is that all employees are able to work in an inspiring and motivating atmosphere.
All employees at all organizational levels are responsible for improving wellbeing at work by encouraging and supporting their colleagues. Moreover, all employees have the right to good management and proper treatment by their supervisors, subordinates and co-workers. It goes without saying that any type of discrimination or harassment due to race, skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or any other factor is absolutely prohibited.
Common goals and programs have been set to develop the work environment. Occupational safety is one of the most important factors related to wellbeing at work: safety- and health-related matters must not be neglected in any circumstances for achieving cost savings or profits, particularly not aboard vessels and in warehouses that contain chemicals, other raw materials or food products. Actions that aim to develop occupational safety start from day-to-day training, such as training on how to drive on slippery surfaces offered in autumn 2018. In addition, training related to travel safety has been planned for 2019. It will provide frequent travelers with information about health, crime and terrorism.
Employees are also encouraged to give feedback on the functionality of the company’s principles through performance appraisals and satisfaction surveys. The goal is to have no scores of 1 or 2 in surveys (on a scale from 1 to 5).
The personnel’s satisfaction with their work and business area and with the Aspo Group has improved steadily. The personnel’s satisfaction with the Aspo Group increased in 2018 to 4.24 (4.17) on a scale from 1 to 5. Long careers are also good indications of commitment – nearly 30% of the personnel have been in service for more than 10 years and dozens of employees have worked for more than 30 years at Aspo.
